Ultrasound Technician (Dual Registry) - Part Time

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a part-time Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) with a dual registry. The sonographer manages and performs abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, small parts, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular ultrasound examinations, communicates findings to the radiologist and works independently to gather the clinical information needed for a diagnosis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, small parts, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular ultrasound exams
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and disease and explain it to the radiologist
• Use color Doppler and other advanced imaging techniques correctly
• Work independently to obtain the clinical information the radiologist needs for a diagnosis
• Accept secondary departmental responsibilities to support teamwork
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Certificate or registry from a Diagnostic Imaging-accredited program
• Registered ARDMS or Ultrasound with the ARRT (US)
• Vascular experience required; registry RVT, CCI or ARRT-Vascular US required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to attend annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance and new employee orientation
