Transplant RN – Quality & Performance Improvement Coordinator (Hybrid)

About the role

The Transplant Registered Nurse – Quality and Performance Improvement Coordinator works within Ochsner’s transplant services to drive clinical quality, safety, and accreditation readiness. This hybrid position collaborates with managers and committees to identify, trend, and resolve quality issues, supporting continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conducts analysis of reports on occurrences, outcomes, and other quality indicators.
• Participates in organization committees and councils, providing data trends and direction for performance improvement initiatives.
• Delivers education on performance improvement, patient safety, and statistical analysis to staff.
• Acts as a resource for regulatory requirements, leading Joint Commission mock surveys and maintaining readiness.
• Supports risk management by identifying, trending, and following up on clinical issues.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of professional nursing experience in an acute‑care setting; 5 years preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, on‑call, and travel between facilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web‑based tools for data analysis.
• Effective verbal and written communication for presenting information to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards, quality management, and continuous quality improvement processes.
