Transcriptionist Lab - Full Time, Day Shift

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a Transcriptionist for its laboratory. The position is full time, day shift, and supports pathologists in producing pathology reports.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pathologists in producing pathology reports by transcription, gathering patient history and distributing reports.
• Interact with staff and non-staff physicians about pathology results or special requests.
• Coordinate patients' needs for continued care.
• Maintain quality assurance reports, correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Work closely with pathologists, oncologists and surgeons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of medical transcription experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology used in pathology.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate well verbally and in writing, and make independent judgments when following up with clinical staff.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, walk and lift up to 50 lbs; the job can be physically demanding.
• Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission education, TB/PPD surveillance and maintenance of required licenses or certifications.
