Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for its China Grove, NC service center. This full‑time position works the second shift (3:00 pm to 1:30 am) and offers a competitive hourly wage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic processes, repairs, and routine maintenance on trailers.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA documentation.
• Test equipment to ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and address trailer repairs.

Required profile

• Experience with safety inspections and FMCSA compliance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and lift 50 lb.
• Dependable, able to work in varying climate conditions, and own personal tools.

Required skills

• Repairing or replacing defective trailer parts and components.
• Testing equipment for proper performance.
• Trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Use of Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System (preferred).
• Welding, sheet‑metal, and composite panel repair.
• Operating yard tractors and trailers.
