About the role

City Rise Utility Traffic Control is seeking a full‑time Traffic Control Technician to lead on‑site crews, ensure safety, and manage traffic control setups for utility projects across California.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee work zone setup, maintenance, and teardown following MUTCD standards.
  • Drive company trucks, deliver and tow equipment, and keep all gear organized.
  • Conduct daily Job Hazard Analyses, tailgate meetings, and provide safety reports.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, the public, and management about work zone requirements.

Required profile

  • Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years clean record and reliable transportation.
  • Current IBEW membership with Traffic Tech classification.
  • 2+ years experience in traffic control or similar field work.
  • Ability to read and interpret traffic control plans and maintain effective relationships.

Required skills

  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • ATSSA Flagger certification (required) and ATSSA TCT/TCS certifications (preferred).
  • Proficient knowledge of Cal Trans MUTCD standards.
