Traffic Control Associate – Construction Site Flagger

About the role

City Rise Traffic provides traffic control safety services for construction sites across California. The Traffic Control Associate helps manage vehicle and pedestrian flow around active work zones, ensuring safety for workers and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Use hand signals and paddles to direct traffic according to plans and customer requests.
• Set up, maintain, and tear down traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signs.
• Communicate with crew leaders, customers, and the public via radios or hand signals.
• Drive company trucks and keep equipment organized and in working order.
• Follow state, federal, and company safety regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and lighting conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Current LIUNA membership (journeyman or apprentice) preferred.

Required skills

• ATSSA flagging certification (or willingness to obtain in‑house).
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of Caltrans MUTCD and traffic control plans (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (a plus).
