Trades Technician I – Plumber (Georgia Air National Guard)

About the role

The Georgia Air National Guard’s 165th AW Civil Engineering Squadron is seeking a Journeyman‑level plumber to perform repairs, installations, and maintenance of plumbing systems supporting both military and civilian facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform journeyman‑level plumbing repairs and installations.
• Repair, replace and install plumbing fixtures, drainage systems, hot‑water heaters, boilers and associated hardware in accordance with applicable codes.
• Assist in other maintenance specialties as needed.

Required profile

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment background investigations, drug testing and post‑employment federal background checks.

Required skills

• Backflow Prevention Certification (or acquire within one year of hire).
• Experience using National Plumbing Codes and locating underground utilities.
• Maintenance and repair of lift stations and oil‑water separators.
• Work with commercial dishwashers, garbage disposals and water heaters.
• Two years of commercial or residential plumbing experience, including installation, repair and maintenance of fixtures and a variety of pipe materials (PVC, CPVC, copper, black iron, galvanized), soldering and brazing.
