Tooling Engineer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Tooling Engineer to design, build, and validate manufacturing and assembly tooling for its Corsair and Mirage autonomous maritime product lines. You will work closely with design and production teams to ensure tooling meets hardware requirements and supports full‑rate production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate manufacturing and assembly tooling for Corsair & Mirage product lines.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to align tooling with hardware specifications.
• Evaluate mechanical designs for potential flaws and propose modifications.
• Prepare detailed assembly layouts and GD&T drawings; assist in tooling fabrication.
• Analyze tooling designs using hand calculations and finite element models.
• Develop and execute validation plans to verify tooling performance.
• Ensure design, test, and maintenance processes meet company quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience designing complex manufacturing or assembly tooling.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, solid mechanics, and machine design.
• Proven experience with the full product lifecycle of tooling development.
• Proficiency with CAD and finite element analysis software (e.g., Siemens NX, FEMAP).
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative mechanical solutions.
