Tier 1 Systems Administrator (Tue‑Sat & Holidays)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Tier 1 Systems Administrator to provide onsite support for its TAP Lab in Boulder, Colorado. This entry‑level position offers exposure to a Red Hat‑centric environment, classified and unclassified lab events, and a variety of IT infrastructure components.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier I systems, hardware, network, application, and storage administration support, primarily in a Red Hat environment with Active Directory.
• Monitor systems for anomalies, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues as needed.
• Facilitate vendor onboarding, account creation, password resets, and software updates.
• Deliver IT and audio‑visual support for lab events, demonstrations, and meetings.
• Maintain and configure computer systems, network servers, and virtualization hardware/software.
• Generate, review, and analyze manual and automated cyber reports.

Required profile

• Active Secret DoD security clearance (ability to obtain TS/SCI).
• 0+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree (additional experience may substitute for degree).
• Current Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Level II/III.
• Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.

Required skills

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• Microsoft Windows operating system and server administration.
• Virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, virtual machines, containers).
• Active Directory domain management.
• Red Hat RPM package management.
• Network fundamentals (IP, Ethernet).
• Security assessment/compliance tools (HBSS, ACAS, OpenSCAP, ePO, SCC).

What we offer

• Salary range: $74,800 – $130,900 per year.
