Test Engineer

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Test Engineer to join its engineering team in Dahlgren, VA. The position supports the SLCM-N Program and offers work with new systems, advanced weapon system capabilities, software, hardware and development tools, while supporting the Government in developing new concepts, technologies and fleet capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Work in an Agile, cross-functional Scrum team, with a primary focus on testing, and support test-driven development (TDD).
• Contribute to automated testing at all levels: exploratory, system, integration, unit, end-to-end, contract, security and performance testing.
• Design and execute test cases and test data, and test distributed systems including databases, application servers and web front ends.
• Use JUnit/Jest, JaCoCo, Selenium, JMeter, Burp Suite and other tools, and apply Agile and DevSecOps approaches.
• Carry out software engineering activities (analysis, requirements, design, code, testing) and use Azure DevOps, Jira and Confluence.
• Work with program stakeholders, including sponsors, end users and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline, or five years of demonstrated testing expertise in lieu of the degree.
• Five years of experience with nuclear operations, nuclear command and control, strategic weapons, nuclear planning and national-level command and control programs.
• Five years of software engineering experience in a real-time software-intensive weapon system, command system or intelligence system, including requirements definition.
• Three years of specialized experience in software requirements analysis, design tradeoff studies, structured requirements analysis and specification development (e.g., DOORS).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
