Simulink Software Developer

About the role

Amentum is seeking software engineers to support modeling for Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia, working on-site with its Systems and Software Engineering team and its Software Center of Excellence. The role applies skills to DoD weapons and sensor systems and involves supporting a Senior Amentum developer using Agile development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Simulink modeling in support of Naval projects and programs.
• Conduct modeling within the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.
• Support a Senior Amentum developer primarily using Agile development principles.
• Apply Simulink experience and familiarity with Agile Development to project requirements.
• Perform analysis and problem-solving in support of professional scientific and engineering work.
• Work independently and with others within established teams and across organizations to meet goals within schedule-driven timelines.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to maintain it.
• Valid REAL ID driver's license and reliable transportation, as occasional travel between local work sites is required.

Required skills

• Preferred: Simulink experience.
• Preferred: familiarity with Agile Development.
