Temporary Service Technician – Residential Learning Community

About the role

This temporary position supports the Residential Learning Community by performing technical and mechanical work to maintain building systems, grounds, and common areas to Greystar’s standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the make‑ready process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, track usage, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Perform general grounds upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor work, conduct routine property inspections, and report safety or risk concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of property or building maintenance experience.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to be on‑call as needed.

Required skills

• HVAC knowledge and relevant certifications (e.g., EPA Type I, II, or Universal).
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management tools for reporting.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart where applicable.
