Technical Consultant – Patient Monitoring (Kansas City)

About the role

Join Philips as a Technical Consultant in the Hospital Patient Monitoring business, providing hands‑on installation, configuration and support of advanced patient monitoring solutions for hospitals in the Kansas City area. You will work both onsite at clinical sites and remotely, ensuring reliable operation of critical equipment that directly impacts patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and remote technical support, quickly responding to customer issues to minimize workflow disruption.
• Support the full lifecycle of patient monitoring and IT infrastructure solutions, including installation, configuration, integration and testing.
• Troubleshoot system, network and application problems using approved tools and diagnostic methodologies, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, troubleshooting steps and support procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, clinical partners, sales and service teams to achieve high‑quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2.5 years of professional experience in IT services or a healthcare technical environment.
• Experience with patient monitoring, telemetry units, ventilators and defibrillators is highly preferred.
• Associate degree in computer science, biomedical engineering or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 75 % of the time, including overnight stays and occasional air or train travel.

Required skills

• Patient monitoring systems and related medical devices (telemetry units, ventilators, defibrillators).
• Fundamental IT networking concepts and troubleshooting.
• Computer networking certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
