Technical Assessor Associate – Home Inspector Certification Required

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Technical Assessor Associate to perform QA/QC inspections of building systems across commercial, residential, and industrial properties. The role involves extensive travel to client sites and requires a Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site walk‑through surveys of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and safety systems, documenting conditions with photographs, data plates, and bar codes.
• Review construction plans, scopes of work, and property records to compare with actual site conditions and identify deficiencies.
• Collect and enter data using web‑based programs, tablets, or iPads, and generate detailed reports that include findings, photographs, and compliance recommendations.
• Ensure inspections adhere to local, state, and federal codes as well as industry standards such as ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.
• Communicate results and corrective actions to property owners, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years related inspection or assessment experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to meet physical demands of field work, including walking, climbing ladders, and handling equipment.

Required skills

• Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification.
• Proficiency in using web‑based data collection tools, tablets, and iPads.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards (ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, ASME).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and report‑writing abilities.
