Technical Assessor Associate (Home Inspector Certification Required)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Technical Assessor Associate to perform QA/QC inspections of building systems across commercial, residential, and industrial properties. The role involves extensive travel to client sites and requires a Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and fire safety systems, documenting conditions with photographs and data plates.
• Collect and enter data using web‑based programs, tablets, or iPads, applying bar codes to identified equipment.
• Review construction plans, maintenance records, and property documents to compare with site conditions.
• Prepare detailed reports that include findings, photographs, and recommendations in accordance with ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME standards.
• Communicate inspection results and corrective actions to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related inspection or assessment experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to meet physical demands of field work, including walking, climbing ladders, and crouching in crawl spaces.

Required skills

• Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification.
• Proficiency in conducting building system inspections and condition assessments.
• Experience using web‑based data collection tools and mobile devices for reporting.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, ASME).
