Technical Assessor Associate – Building Inspections

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Technical Assessor Associate to perform QA/QC inspections of building systems across commercial, residential, and industrial properties. The role involves extensive travel to client sites and the use of digital tools to collect and report data.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of mechanical, electrical, fire & life safety, structural components and other building systems.
• Gather and record equipment data, photographs, and bar‑code tags using web‑based programs and mobile devices.
• Review construction plans, maintenance records, and regulatory documents to verify compliance with standards such as ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC and ASME.
• Identify deficiencies or hazards, recommend corrective actions, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other inspectors to ensure consistency and quality control.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in building inspections or assessments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with web‑based data collection tools and mobile devices (e.g., iPad).
• Ability to read and interpret building codes, standards and construction documents.
• Experience documenting findings with photographs and written reports.
