Team Manager – 1st Shift Production

About the role

Lead the safe, efficient, and effective day‑to‑day operation of the manufacturing facility on the first shift, driving performance aligned with the 4Z philosophy (Zero Injuries, Zero Defects, Zero Downtime, Zero Late Deliveries). The role requires visible floor leadership, continuous‑improvement focus, and collaboration across production, quality, maintenance, and supply‑chain functions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections, weekly audits and champion 5S routines to maintain high workplace standards.
• Manage the shift team (2 Team Leaders, 12‑16 members), oversee handovers, recruitment, capacity planning and performance reviews.
• Monitor KPI metrics on the factory “Status Board”, analyze ERP data, and lead root‑cause investigations to reduce scrap, downtime and people costs.
• Act as Process Owner for SOP development, auditing, Kaizen initiatives and cross‑training programs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Planning and Warehouse to resolve issues and support 24/7 operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 2+ years experience in maintenance, production or quality and at least 1 year of people‑management experience.
• Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints and machine reports.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced use of ERP systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• AutoCAD competency.
• Data‑analysis capabilities.
