Teacher Assistant – New Madrid High School

About the role

The Teacher Assistant will support the daily operations of New Madrid High School’s classroom environment, including bus duty and other tasks as needed. Working closely with the classroom teacher, the assistant helps ensure a safe and engaging setting for young children and low‑income families.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out duties in line with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
• Assist the classroom teacher and actively engage in classroom operations.
• Support assessments and screenings as directed.
• Ensure no child is left alone and maintain appropriate voice tone with children, families, staff, and the public.
• Perform data entry tasks as required.
• Assist with classroom setup and material preparation.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Experience working with young children and low‑income families.
