Tax Preparer

About the role

ACP Tax Advisory is looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join its fast‑growing bilingual team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of individual, business and cross‑border tax returns, communicating directly with clients in both English and Portuguese.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual income tax returns (Form 1040) including Schedule C, E, and itemized deductions.
• Prepare business tax returns: Forms 1120, 1120‑S, and 1065 for LLCs, S‑Corps, and partnerships.
• Assist with foreign‑owned entity compliance, including Forms 5472, pro‑forma 1120 and FBAR awareness.
• Collect documents, provide status updates, and explain tax matters to clients in English and Portuguese.
• Coordinate with the internal bookkeeping team to ensure clean financials before filing.
• Identify tax optimization opportunities and flag compliance risks.
• Maintain organized digital client files within the firm’s internal systems.
• Meet all seasonal filing deadlines and extension timelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on U.S. tax preparation experience.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese with full client communication in both languages.
• Working knowledge of personal and business tax forms (1040, 1120, 1120‑S, 1065, etc.).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously.
• Active PTIN (or willingness to obtain immediately).
