Survey LiDAR Technician

About the role

Centurion Planning & Design is looking for a full‑time Survey LiDAR Technician to join its Survey Department. The role is office‑based in Grapevine and focuses on processing, registering, QA/QC and delivering survey products from terrestrial, mobile and aerial LiDAR as well as drone photogrammetry data.

Key responsibilities

• Process and register terrestrial LiDAR and laser‑scanning datasets, including point‑cloud cleanup, filtering, classification and quality control.
• Integrate LiDAR data with survey control, GNSS, total‑station and conventional survey data to extract features such as breaklines, drainage, structures and terrain models.
• Develop surfaces, contours and topographic products in Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D or similar CAD workflows.
• Support mobile and aerial LiDAR, as well as UAS photogrammetry datasets, and coordinate with field crews on control and data‑quality issues.

Required profile

• Professional experience processing LiDAR, laser‑scanning or point‑cloud data.
• Working knowledge of survey control, coordinate systems, datums, elevations and georeferencing.
• Ability to identify registration, control and data‑quality issues in large point‑cloud datasets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to survey accuracy.

Required skills

• Terrestrial LiDAR processing and point‑cloud registration.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center, Autodesk Civil 3D, Virtual Surveyor, YellowScan CloudStation, Qinertia or comparable platforms.
• GIS/ArcGIS knowledge (preferred).
• Familiarity with GNSS/INS trajectory processing and FAA Part 107 certification (preferred).
