Supply Chain Technical Specialist

About the role

The Supply Chain Technical Specialist works directly with Illinois manufacturers to assess, optimize, and strengthen supply chain operations, including supplier scouting and digital solutions. The role involves frequent travel across the state, field‑based work from a home office, and collaboration with IMEC’s field team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultation on supply chain strategy, capacity assessments, gap analysis, and process optimization.
• Conduct supplier scouting, qualify suppliers, and connect them to new opportunities.
• Prepare proposals, deliver sales presentations, and support business development across Illinois manufacturers.
• Manage project engagements: assess operations, identify bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and support digital tool implementation.
• Develop roadmaps to enhance efficiency, agility, and resilience, and track outcomes and metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, logistics, or industrial consulting.
• Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, or quantum supply chain environments is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience consulting manufacturers.
