Supply Chain Analyst – Production Planning

About the role

3M is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to join its Greenville, SC team. The role focuses on production planning and ordering for assigned products and production lines, ensuring service levels are met while minimizing inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production orders and place purchase orders to support production.
• Manage material and capacity exceptions, balancing service, inventory, and cost.
• Optimize production lot sizes, cycles, and safety stocks.
• Collaborate with local and regional businesses to set appropriate service targets.
• Ensure accurate requirements flow to upstream and downstream operations, including external plants.
• Manage short‑, medium‑ and long‑term capacity, identify and resolve constraints.
• Work closely with Supply Planners to address supply constraints in 3M plants.
• Lead and present optimization opportunities and participate in Lean Six Sigma projects.
• Execute global production planning process standards related to NWI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university (verified prior to start).
• At least two years of combined experience in supply chain, transportation & logistics, customer service, or marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Additional experience (five years) and background in production planning are advantageous.
