Valet Attendant – VA Medical Center

About the role

The Valet Attendant provides parking and vehicle assistance to veterans, patients, visitors and staff at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The role includes handling wheelchairs, directing traffic, and ensuring a safe, courteous valet experience. This position requires a clean driving record and the ability to assist customers with mobility needs.

Key responsibilities

• Park and retrieve vehicles in the valet area within ten minutes of arrival or request.
• Assist veterans with entering and exiting vehicles, including handling wheelchairs and loading them into cars.
• Monitor valet zones, direct unauthorized vehicles, and provide parking guidance to visitors and staff.
• Complete valet ticket documentation, record vehicle condition, and manage key storage securely.
• Report suspicious activity to the Valet Manager and, when necessary, to VA Police.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking and reaching.
• Strong communication skills to interact with veterans, patients and visitors.
