Supervisor, Patient Flow and Staffing Office

About the role

The Supervisor of the Patient Flow and Staffing Office leads daily operations, process management, and performance improvement for enterprise‑wide patient logistics. Working across all LVHN campuses, the role ensures efficient patient throughput, bed management, and capacity monitoring to support safe, high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct oversight of staffing and patient logistics teams, including bed management.
• Expedite, prioritize, and resolve barriers to patient throughput, serving as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Collaborate with the Transfer Center and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and capacity.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of capacity problems and implement real‑time interventions.
• Represent the capacity command center in campus huddles and lead system‑wide capacity meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Management, Business Administration, Healthcare, Public Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience and 2 years in healthcare supervision, administration, or hospital operations.
• Demonstrated creative problem‑solving, strong communication skills, and ability to lead work groups.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a valid RN or PA license in Pennsylvania.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system (preferred).
• Knowledge of patient flow processes, capacity monitoring, and surge management.
