Strategic Sourcing Sr Advisor - Clinical Platforms

About the role

HCSC is hiring a Senior Strategic Sourcing Advisor for its Clinical Platforms team in Chicago. The role leads strategic sourcing and category management for clinical platforms and healthcare technology solutions, working with business stakeholders, clinical teams, IT leaders and suppliers. It is a flex (hybrid) position: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Manage category management around the identification, development and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies
• Conduct needs analysis, evaluate sourcing options and support supplier selection
• Support negotiations, oversee contracts and drive cost reduction initiatives
• Manage supplier risk and build supplier partnerships
• Provide thought leadership across complex spend categories using market intelligence and supplier roadmaps
• Support requirements facilitation, contract drafting and negotiations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supplier management and category management
• Strong understanding of the healthcare payer clinical ecosystem and how health plans operate
• Comfortable discussing SaaS solutions, platform architecture, API integrations, interoperability and data platforms
• Executive presence, strong communication and presentation skills, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills

Preferred qualifications

• Understanding of the payor clinical ecosystem and how procurement decisions link to medical cost, quality, member and provider experience and regulatory requirements
• Management or team supervisory experience
• Knowledge of e-procurement systems, including Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules
• MBA or master's degree

What we offer

• Base pay range of $102,000 to $184,300, varying with skills, experience and location
