Staff Product Manager, Compliance
Fastly · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
Fastly's Core Infrastructure Product Management team is hiring a Staff Product Manager for Compliance. The role owns compliance as a shared platform capability: the controls in the control plane, the residency and sovereignty settings customers configure, and the evidence and attestation surfaces they use to satisfy their own auditors and regulators. It defines what products must do so customers can meet their obligations, carries those decisions through engineering, security, legal and go-to-market, and reports to the Director of Core Infrastructure Product Management.
Key responsibilities
- Own compliance as a platform capability: define the strategy and roadmap, set the multi-year view, and prioritize investments that open regulated segments.
- Define residency and sovereignty requirements and turn them into consistent platform requirements.
- Build the attestation and evidence surfaces customers use to show their auditors and regulators what happened to their data, when and why.
- Specify governance and control in the control plane so customers can inspect and demonstrate how their configuration is set and changed.
- Track regulatory shifts, including sovereignty regimes, privacy law and emerging AI governance, and turn them into product requirements.
- Bring engineering, security, legal and go-to-market together, frame trade-offs and drive decisions to closure.
Required profile
- 8+ years in product management or technical product leadership, ideally on infrastructure, platform or security products.
- Working understanding of data residency and sovereignty, privacy regimes such as GDPR and CCPA, and emerging AI governance, and the ability to turn compliance obligations into product requirements.
- Precision in defining the narrowest product capability that satisfies a requirement, and technical fluency in control planes, configuration models and data flow.
- Proven collaborative leadership and the ability to communicate clearly to engineers, executives and customers.
Preferred experience
- Data residency in caching, replication or failover systems.
- Auditable features such as tamper-evident logs, immutable configuration history or machine-readable attestation.
- Regulated verticals such as finance, healthcare or public sector (PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
What we offer
- Estimated salary of $211,370 to $253,644, with possible equity and discretionary bonus participation.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance, family planning and mental health support, Employee Assistance Program, and life, disability and accident insurance.
- Flexible vacation, up to 18 days of accrued paid sick leave, 12 paid local holidays and 12 paid wellness days.
- 401(k) with company match and an employee stock purchase program.
- Hybrid and remote options, with a strong preference for hybrid near a local office; travel as required by the role.
