Staff Product Designer

About the role

Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers and maker brands with products from around the world. As a Staff Product Designer you will join a close-knit, collaborative team that designs intuitive experiences for thousands of retailers, shaping product alongside partners in research, engineering, product, data and analytics. The role covers strategy, craft and end-to-end experiences, and supports key business goals across your pod and broader pillar work. Candidates must be open to working in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.

Key responsibilities

• Define the vision by proactively identifying gaps and influencing roadmap prioritization.
• Lead end-to-end design, from discovery and rapid prototyping through polished execution and production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product and data teams to explore new approaches.
• Communicate the design vision's business and customer impact to inspire alignment across teams and leadership.
• Advance the design system by evolving patterns, motion and visual language that scale across the platform.
• Prototype quickly with modern tools to test assumptions and accelerate innovation.
• Mentor and elevate other designers by sharing craft, process and storytelling approach.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience designing complex, high-impact digital products.
• Proven ability to lead with vision, influence strategy and align cross-functional partners through storytelling.
• Experience contributing to and evolving large-scale design systems.
• A portfolio showing visionary product thinking, strong craft and clear communication of impact.
• Ideally, a sense of humor and, if you are a maker or retailer, first-hand experience of the small business journey.

• Comfort experimenting with new tools and workflows, including AI-integrated design.

What we offer

• Pay range of $216,000 - $297,000 per year in San Francisco or New York, plus eligibility for equity and benefits.
