Lead Product Designer

About the role

Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers and maker brands worldwide. As a Lead Product Designer you will join a close-knit team of designers at the heart of product work, shaping features and experiences for the platform's small retailers. You will embed in a product team and focus on a strategic pillar of the product, working with research, engineering, product and customer service teams. Candidates must be open to working in San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY.

Key responsibilities

• Influence what to build based on customer understanding and business context.
• Lead end-to-end design, from discovery and rapid prototyping through polished execution and production.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and data teams to explore new approaches.
• Communicate design vision in terms of business and customer impact to align teams and leadership.
• Advance the design system, evolving patterns, motion and visual language across the platform.
• Prototype quickly with modern tools to test assumptions and accelerate innovation.
• Elevate other designers by sharing craft, process and storytelling approach.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience designing digital products and systems, with high-quality visual, UX, systems and content design.
• Expertise in interaction design, visual craft and systems thinking.
• Ability to connect design direction to business and customer outcomes.
• Experience contributing to and evolving large-scale design systems.
• Portfolio showing visionary product thinking, strong craft and clear communication of impact.
• Ideally, a maker or retailer with first-hand experience of small business.

• Pay range of $184,000 - $253,000 per year in San Francisco or New York, plus equity and benefits.
