Staff Nurse - PACU & Second Stage Recovery (50-100% D/E Rotating)

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Second Stage Recovery team at the University of Iowa Health Care. The role involves providing high‑quality nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia on a rotating 50‑100% schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement nursing interventions, document patient responses, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure safe transitions and discharge planning.
• Adhere to unit policies, universal precautions, and safety protocols.
• Participate in shift differentials and occasional on‑call duties as required.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma, Baccalaureate, MNHP, MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or Master’s in Nursing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and teamwork orientation.
