Staff Accountant – Client Portfolio Management

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant (or Senior Accountant) to take ownership of a client portfolio at Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP. This full‑time position offers a clear path toward leadership and potential partnership within a firm that values both people and numbers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a personal portfolio of individual, partnership, corporate, nonprofit, estate, and trust clients.
• Provide tax and accounting services, including planning, preparing, and reviewing tax returns.
• Meet directly with clients to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships.
• Deliver a variety of non‑attest services such as bookkeeping and consulting.
• Oversee and mentor junior staff, helping develop future leaders.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of tax experience in public accounting (preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and relationships.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Confidence explaining complex financial concepts to diverse clients.
• Active CPA license is a plus (not required).
• Farm tax experience is a plus (not required).
