Sr. Reconditioning Technician

About the role

Plug is building a marketplace for used electric vehicles and needs a senior technician to lead the reconditioning function. As the first Reconditioning Technician, you will own the end‑to‑end process that brings incoming EVs to a “Retail Ready” condition and help shape the team and SOPs as the operation scales.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of incoming vehicles, including diagnostics, exterior, interior, mechanical systems and road‑test.
• Execute light reconditioning tasks such as tire replacement, brake pad service, cabin‑air‑filter changes, wiper‑blade swaps and other non‑power‑train repairs.
• Diagnose, identify and resolve complex issues across major vehicle systems.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on system requirements for the reconditioning workflow.
• Recruit, train and supervise junior technicians or operation specialists as the function grows.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience in automotive repair and vehicle inspection, preferably with electric vehicles.
• Proven ability to work independently, set up processes and lead a small technical team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
