Sr. Plant Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift

About the role

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking a senior production supervisor for the 2nd shift at its York, PA plant. You will lead a unionized team of up to 30 welding and fabrication trades, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and on‑time delivery of complex air‑conditioning plant components.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong employee relationships to drive productivity and best practices.
• Remove barriers, resolve conflicts, and promote a collaborative, team‑first environment.
• Coordinate daily/weekly production plans, prioritize at‑risk orders, and work with production control on scheduling.
• Monitor material non‑conformances, enforce 6S/housekeeping, and champion a safety‑first culture.
• Provide training for new hires, maintain training records, and assess staffing needs.

Required profile

• Strong leadership experience guiding unionized manufacturing teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing and knowledge of Navy welding standards (NAVSEA 248/278) preferred.

What we offer

• Base salary $76,100 – $95,000 plus shift differential and bonus eligibility.
