Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Adult & NICU

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment for acute adult and NICU patients at Ochsner Baptist. The role involves planning, organizing, and delivering speech therapy programs in accordance with state practice guidelines while maintaining accurate patient records.

Key responsibilities

• Perform age‑ and diagnosis‑appropriate speech evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain detailed patient records and adjust treatment plans based on patient response.
• Collaborate with the department to meet productivity goals and participate in professional development.
• Educate and train staff or peers as needed and adapt communication style to diverse patient populations.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
• Current Louisiana Speech Pathologist license (or eligibility for licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA within two years of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system and related software applications.
• Ability to use data‑entry and patient‑record management tools efficiently.
