Speech and Language Pathologist – Pool of Qualified Candidates

About the role

The district is building a pool of qualified Speech and Language Pathologists to serve students from birth to age 21 with communication disorders. Candidates will be considered for specific vacancies as they arise.

Key responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, diagnose and remediate articulation, voice, language and fluency disorders.
• Develop individualized goals and implement therapeutic interventions for single students and small groups.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and multidisciplinary teams, including participation in IEP meetings.
• Prepare concise clinical reports, IEPs/IFSPs and maintain longitudinal student records.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in speech‑language pathology.
• Maryland state licensure (DHMH license or eligible for provisional license) and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year).
• Demonstrated experience working with children and young adults with communication disorders.
• Strong oral and written communication, human‑relations and organizational abilities.

• Effective consultation skills with teachers, parents and team members.
