About the role
The Specialty Medical Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit caring for complex patients. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and support safe transitions of care.
- Participate in performance improvement processes and evidence‑based practice projects.
- Teach and mentor new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill and acuity.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Knowledge of current nursing practice, ability to prioritize assignments, and successful completion of specialty orientation.
- Maintain unit‑specific competencies and basic computer skills.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
