About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the Gainesville RYDC (NSC) school. Reporting to the school leader, you will design and deliver flexible instruction that enables students with disabilities to access the general curriculum as fully as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a positive learning environment.
• Employ specialized strategies to develop sensory, perceptual‑motor, language, cognition, and memory skills.
• Teach academic subjects using phonetics, multi‑sensory techniques, and repetition.
• Implement behavior support systems aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Adapt general education curriculum with varied instructional techniques and technologies.
• Plan balanced activities that encourage observation, questioning, and investigation.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, counselors, and specialists to develop and monitor IEPs.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare required reports.
