Part‑Time English/Writing Tutor

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time English/Writing Tutor to support students at Lanier Technical College. The tutor will provide one‑on‑one or small‑group assistance in English language and writing across subjects, helping learners improve their academic performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tutoring sessions in English and writing at designated campus locations or learning centers.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials to match each student’s ability, goals, and interests.
• Assign manageable tasks, give constructive feedback, and monitor student progress.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment.
• Complete basic administrative duties and adhere to safety and security protocols.
• Participate in in‑service training, workshops, and seminars as required.

Required profile

• Successful completion of college‑level English courses with at least a “B” grade (e.g., ENGL 1101, ENGL 1102, ENGL 2130, ENGL 2110).
• Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the application.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work with adult learners and provide encouragement.

• Proficiency with standard computer applications and job‑related software.

What we offer
