About the role

The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring a Sous Chef for its kitchen-F&B department, reporting to the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef helps drive the restaurant operation and supports an inclusive, innovative and collaborative culture. The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure standards are maintained for all team members and supervise the preparation of all food items in the kitchen
• Write prep lists, check and audit preparation methods, and work the line when necessary
• Maintain compliance with DOL and Health Department regulations and uphold food safety, handling and sanitation requirements
• Keep stations clean and organized throughout the shift and provide feedback and guidance to team members
• Oversee company systems and policies, order products and manage inventory so that stock stays fresh and is used timely
• Make daily specials and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 5+ years of Sous Chef experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of formal culinary experience or food service management at a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen
• Ability to stand for 75%+ of the time and lift some items; varying schedules including holidays and weekends may be required
