Night Auditor

About the role

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Plainville, CT, is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented and customer-focused Night Auditor to join its Front Office team. The Night Auditor oversees hotel operations during overnight hours, provides guest service, ensures the accuracy of daily financial transactions and prepares the property for the next business day.

Key responsibilities

• Guest services: check-ins and check-outs, answering calls, handling complaints and service requests, verifying identification and reservations, promoting Marriott Bonvoy enrollment, and keeping the front desk and lobby tidy.
• Night audit: complete the daily night audit in Marriott's STAY system, reconcile guest accounts and room charges, verify rates and taxes, balance cash and credit card transactions, investigate discrepancies and generate daily revenue, occupancy and operational reports.
• Overnight operations: monitor hotel activity and security, conduct property walkthroughs, respond to emergencies and alarms, track arrivals, departures and no-shows, and hand over to the morning shift.
• Assist with breakfast setup and ensure the front desk is ready for the morning shift.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred.
• Experience with Marriott FOSSE strongly preferred.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods and to lift up to 25 pounds.

Required skills

• Basic accounting, cash handling and computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail and ability to work independently overnight.
