Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

A hotel team in Plainville, CT is looking for a dependable, skilled and hardworking Hotel Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate keeps the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, equipment and building systems in good order so guests have a safe, comfortable and pleasant stay. The position is full time and pays $19.00 - $19.50 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect and repair guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways and public areas.
• Troubleshoot basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting and carpentry issues.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders.
• Maintain hotel equipment, tools and maintenance supplies.
• Identify and report safety hazards, building defects and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with painting, patching, furniture repairs and other general maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety procedures, emergency protocols and building codes, and keep maintenance areas clean, organized and secure.
• Work with housekeeping, the front desk and other departments.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance experience preferred; hotel or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Good communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and perform maintenance tasks as required.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays or different shifts as needed.

Required skills
