Software Engineering Co-Op – Spring 2027

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking Software Engineering co‑ops for the Spring 2027 term in its MedTech R&D business located in Cincinnati, OH. Co‑ops will work on product software that integrates with mechanical, electrical, and distributed computing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop product software and test tools for integrated environments.
• Document designs, specifications, and formal testable requirements following IEC 62304 and design control processes.
• Participate in 3‑4 month rotations, increasing responsibilities with each rotation.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two semesters completed (sophomore or above) with GPA ≥ 3.0.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. for the full co‑op term without future visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Familiarity with software testing tools such as Google Test, NUnit, or JUnit.
• Knowledge of distributed data services (DDS) like RTI Connext, OpenDDS, or MQTT.
