Software Engineer

About the role

Centrl is seeking a motivated Software Engineer for a 6‑month contract to join its agile engineering team. You will work on cutting‑edge AI‑powered risk and compliance solutions for financial services clients, collaborating closely with product and engineering colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and enhance enterprise software products, delivering robust, scalable code fixes.
• Develop core product features, refactor code, improve performance, and reduce technical debt.
• Build and improve systems supporting client integrations and configuration workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to diagnose issues and deliver high‑quality improvements.
• Investigate real‑world client issues, partnering with client services for durable solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge bases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• 2‑3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Work authorization in the USA.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Front‑end experience with Angular, HTML, and JavaScript.
• SQL query writing and RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks and MCP.
