Software Engineer II (Secret Clearance)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Software Engineer II to join its growing engineering team, focusing on Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) solutions for mission‑critical projects. The role involves close collaboration with leadership, internal and external customers, and supports both development and operational phases.

Key responsibilities

• Support program and project implementation, contributing to department goals and planning.
• Design, build, and maintain innovative, robust, and efficient software solutions.
• Investigate and resolve software defects to ensure high‑quality systems.
• Oversee test activities during product releases and ensure quality.
• Engage with customers to understand needs and build strong relationships.
• Operate software in large‑force exercises and real‑world missions.
• Test and document new and existing software systems and applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and users to gather and refine requirements.
• Advocate for continuous improvements within the organization.
• Travel up to 25% to support projects and customer engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software experience in the Military, DoD, or as a DoD contractor.
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance.
• Proficiency in at least one OOP language (Java, C#, Python).
• Experience with Agile development and tools such as Confluence, JIRA, GitHub.
• Understanding of military aircraft, vehicles, sensors, radars, and electronic systems.
• Basic knowledge of electronic warfare concepts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
