Social Studies Teacher – Crisp RYDC (Cordele, GA)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Social Studies Teacher for the Crisp RYDC campus in Cordele. Under the direction of the school leader, you will design and deliver instruction that supports diverse learners and helps them achieve academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning.
• Use relevant technology to differentiate instruction and support student engagement.
• Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and disciplinary procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, prepare required reports, and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.

Required profile

• B.A./B.S. degree in teaching the appropriate subject area.
• One to three years of teaching experience, preferably in an alternative school setting.
• Eligibility for Georgia State certification in the appropriate subject area.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively in oral and written form.
