About the role

The Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Social Services Provider (Level 1 or 2) to deliver rehabilitation counseling, intake, and mental‑health services to youth at the Muscogee Youth Development Center in Columbus, GA. Under broad supervision, you will assess, treat, and coordinate care for assigned clients, ensuring compliance with state policies and confidentiality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake screenings, mental‑health assessments, and referrals for youth, completing all required documentation within policy timelines.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling, develop treatment and crisis‑management plans, and deliver on‑call evening and weekend coverage.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, present assessment summaries, and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing evaluation.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports, progress notes, and required documentation in a timely manner.
• Engage in clinical supervision, seeking consultation for complex ethical or clinical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least two years of relevant experience (Level 1) or four years (Level 2).
• Eligibility for licensure as a professional counselor, social worker, or marriage‑and‑family therapist in Georgia is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mental‑health screening, assessment, and therapeutic techniques as outlined by DJJ policy.
