Senior Web Engineer – Fantasy Sports

About the role

Join Sleeper’s fast‑growing fantasy sports platform as a Senior Web Engineer. You will own the web experience for season‑long leagues, drafts, live scoring and the social features that keep millions of fans engaged, especially on high‑traffic game days.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to turn user requirements into technical specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable code using React, Typescript, Tailwind, React Query and Next.js.
• Build fluid, responsive interfaces with a strong focus on animation and gesture interactions.
• Debug and resolve performance, socket, data‑caching and other complex issues.
• Develop reusable UI components and a well‑structured component hierarchy.
• Integrate front‑end components with back‑end services via RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Stay current with React advancements, web‑development best practices and accessibility standards.

Required profile

• Active fantasy‑sports player with a passion for the product.
• 5+ years of web application development, primarily with React.
• Experience building and owning large‑scale consumer‑facing applications.
• Strong eye for interaction detail, especially animation and gesture work.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
