Senior Thermal Controls Test & Integration Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Thermal Controls Test & Integration Engineer to join our Thermal Controls software team. You will develop and integrate control systems for cabin cooling/heating, battery thermal management, and actuator control in electric vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded C software for automotive ECUs.
• Architect control algorithms for refrigeration, coolant flow, external airflow, and HVAC subsystems.
• Write high‑level functional specifications and design documents.
• Create and execute test cases in unit, SIL and HIL environments.
• Perform software testing, calibration, and validation on vehicle prototypes.
• Design diagnostic interfaces to simplify troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to resolve root‑cause issues.
• Prioritize and escalate issues based on impact and program goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in controls development, integration or calibration, preferably automotive or aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, PID tuning and algorithm design.
• Understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics fundamentals.

Required skills

• C, C++, Rust, Python programming.
• Embedded software development for vehicle ECUs.
• Firmware integration, calibration and vehicle‑level testing.
• Software debugging at feature level.
• Experience with requirements management tools (Jama, Doors).
• Experience with issue tracking tools (Jira).
• Familiarity with thermal/HVAC components such as water pumps, AC compressors, expansion valves, blower fans.
