Senior Systems Engineer – Modeling & Analysis

About the role

Airbus U.S. seeks a senior systems engineer to design and analyze satellite and aerospace systems. The role involves full‑lifecycle development from requirements definition through operations, with a focus on system modeling and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform system design and trade studies, develop and maintain engineering models in MATLAB/Simulink and STK.
• Create verification plans, test matrices, and conduct verification and validation activities.
• Support communications and link‑budget analyses, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to roadmap development, schedule and cost targets, and promote reuse of heritage platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 9 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 7 years with a Master’s) in a STEM field.
• Proven experience with aerospace hardware systems from concept through operations.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret‑level DoD clearance.

Required skills

• MATLAB, Simulink, Python (or comparable programming languages).
• Systems Tool Kit (STK) and DOORS.
• Spacecraft subsystem knowledge (power, data handling, attitude control, navigation, communications).
• Requirements definition, decomposition, verification and traceability.
