Senior Software Engineer, Backend (OS)

About the role

SimSpace is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Attack & User Emulation team. You will build high‑fidelity endpoint capabilities and distributed orchestration services that power realistic offensive security and simulated user personas across cyber‑range environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production software in Go, Python, and Kotlin for attack and user emulation frameworks.
• Develop deep OS integrations on Windows and Linux using native APIs, session management, and process execution.
• Improve reliability, security, testability, and observability of message‑driven architectures at scale.
• Collaborate with backend, security, and AI teams to define reusable primitives and APIs.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience delivering production software.
• Deep practical experience with Windows or Linux systems development below the application layer.
• Strong proficiency in Go or ability to become productive quickly.
• Experience with JVM languages (Kotlin/Java) and asynchronous, message‑driven architectures.
