Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer

About the role

ZeroHash is seeking a Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer to own and improve the end‑to‑end processing of crypto and fiat movements. You will resolve complex settlement breaks, mentor teammates, and ensure operational stability for high‑profile financial and consumer brands.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily settlement and trading operations, handling deposits, withdrawals, internal transfers and sweeps.
• Run multi‑way reconciliations across ledgers, bank statements and partner files, driving discrepancies to clean resolution.
• Manage the trade lifecycle from execution to settlement, handling exceptions safely.
• Investigate failed transfers and mismatched balances using SQL and transaction logs, documenting findings in runbooks.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Python scripts for reconciliations and liquidations.
• Support partner go‑lives and asset listings, providing operational feedback.
• Leverage AI tooling (LLMs) for script drafting, anomaly detection and documentation.
• Build dashboards and data models to report operational health to leadership.
• Act as technical point of contact for institutional partners and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in financial operations, settlement, payments or related technical back‑office roles, with mentoring experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical issues to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Proficient Python programming for scripting, data manipulation and API integration.
• Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs and window functions on large datasets.
• Experience with API design and tools such as Postman.
• Regular use of AI‑assisted tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) for coding and documentation.
